BEFORE YOU READ THIS BOOK<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=\u00bbtop\u00bb][vc_column width=\u00bb1\/2″][vc_column_text]The Mapuche People call all their land \u2018Wall Mapu<\/strong>\u2019. This is the name of the territory they have historically inhabited \u2013 to different extents \u2013 from the Limar\u00ed River in the north of Chile to the Chilo\u00e9 Archipelago in the South.<\/p>\n

According to the specific territory they live in, different groups can be identified, such as the \u2018Pikumche<\/strong>\u2019 (\u2018Pikum\u2019 = North), the \u2018Pewenche<\/strong>\u2019 (\u2018Pewenh\u2019 = pi\u00f1on), the \u2018Lhafkenhche<\/strong>\u2019 (\u2018Lhafkenh\u2019 = the coast), and the \u2018Williche<\/strong>\u2019 (\u2018Willi\u2019 = South).<\/p>\n

The Williche are the people who currently inhabit the Los R\u00edos and Los Lagos regions in Chile, from Valdivia to the south of the Chilo\u00e9 Island.<\/p>\n

One of the williche \u2018lof<\/strong>\u2019 or communities that we can find in Alerce village (near Puerto Montt) is the \u2018Ancestral Paillahueque Lof<\/strong>\u2019, and you will read about them later![\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]What do you know about the Mapuche People?<\/strong><\/p>\n
